A TV interview costs him his job

A bus driver working for a specialized transit company challenged his dismissal for making untrue and/or slanderous comments regarding the company on the air at V. During the TV interview, he questioned the vehicles’ maintenance and sanitary conditions, talked about clients as being sick and suffering from weakened immune systems, and called his immediate supervisor a “uncouth Frenchman from France”. The employer alleged that such behaviour amounts to grave misconduct severing the bond of trust. According to the arbitrator, the employee made comments in public that jeopardized his employer’s contract. He also exhibited racism towards his immediate superior and referred detrimentally to clients by talking about their disabilities, thus destroying the bond of trust between him and his employer.
